![]() | Ian Marcousé spent six years in advertising before switching to teaching. For many years, he ran parallel careers as teacher and marketing consultant. Then a successful textbook led to an involvement with the Cambridge Exam Board, from which he became Chief Examiner for AQA Business Studies A Level. He was AQA Chief Examiner from 1994-2004. |
On leaving AQA, Ian became Chair of Strategy for Edexcel Business Education. This means that he has responsibility for business and economics specifications at GCSE and GCE Advanced levels.
In 1993, Ian came up with the idea of an alphabetical textbook, from which the "A-Z Handbook Series" developed. This series from Hodder & Stoughton Educational has become a huge success, spawning overseas versions in America and Russia. Ian’s latest book, "Business Studies 2nd Edition", provides a full coverage of all A level specifications, Scottish Highers and the International Baccalaureate.
In 2004, Ian was elected Chair of the professional association, the EBEA. In addition to writing, examining and teaching, Ian edits Business Review magazine, is a consultant to QCA and the BBC, and runs his own training and conference business, A-Z Business Training Ltd.
